Bobby Donnell

Bobby Glyn Donnell, age 82, of Coweta departed this life on Monday, June 21, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on February 21, 1928 in D'Lo, MS to Ed Sanders and Nora (Grantham) Donnell. Bobby was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He received his education and graduated from high school in Mendenhall, MS. Bobby joined the Merchant Marines in April 1944 and was honorably discharged in July 1945. He and Sadie E. Hill were united in marriage on October 18, 1947 in Mendenhall, MS. Bobby worked as an elevator construction maintenance supervisor for Otis Elevator Company until his retirement in 1982. He was as a member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and the Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, working with metals, and gardening. Bobby was preceded in death by parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sadie E. Donnell of the home; his two sons, Michael G. Donnell and his wife, Kathie, of Haskell, OK and Bobby D. Donnell and his wife, Jill, of Broken Arrow, OK; his brother, Wade Donnell of Mendenhall, MS; his three sisters, Ardis Spiers of Foxworth, MS, Nell Armstrong of Mendenhall, MS, and Judson McHaffey of Woodland, TX; five granddaughters; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Bobby will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Forest Ridge Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Brent White officiating.
