Bobbie Charline McCoy, age 87, resident of Coweta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, OK. She was born on November 8, 1937, in Claremore, OK.
Bobbie's journey began as the daughter of Charlie Pink and Ruby Bell (Lott) Parkerson, and she grew up to be a woman of grace and resilience. She was a proud graduate of Coweta High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and memories, particularly cherishing the times spent with her home economics teacher, Bernice Collins. Her education laid the foundation for a successful career as an executive secretary, where she served with distinction alongside the late Dr. John Coates, and contributed her skills to Sun Oil, Dan P. Holmes & Associates, and Rolland & Associates.
In 1977, Bobbie's life was beautifully entwined with that of Thomas James McCoy, as they married in Muskogee, OK, in a ceremony officiated by a little Indian man on a Saturday night. Their union was one of joy and shared passions, including many fun times spent at the lake, where they camped, boated, and created memories that would last a lifetime.
Bobbie's role as a Creek Nation Princess at the age of 15 was a source of immense pride. She attended many Creek Nation functions, embodying the spirit and traditions of her people. Her work with the Circle A Rodeo Company in the 1970s as a secretary further showcased her commitment to her community and heritage.
A perfectionist in all her endeavors, Bobbie was an excellent cook who loved to share her cooking and baking with friends and family, especially during the holidays. Her love for Christmas was evident in the way she decorated her home, turning it into a festive sanctuary for all who entered. Bobbie's family was her world, and she poured her heart into creating a warm and loving environment for them.
Bobbie is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her daughter, Konnie Corley of Broken Arrow, OK; her son, Kent Blair of Coweta, OK; her grandchildren, Joseph Kyle Corley of Broken Arrow, OK, and Kirsty Lee Blair-Tiger and her husband Isaac of Bixby, OK; her great-grandchildren, Kyndle Corley, Keely Corley, both of Broken Arrow, OK, and Halle Tiger of Bixby, OK; her sister, Janie Fellers of Coweta, OK; her brother, Benny Parkerson and wife Bonnie of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss her dearly.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Thomas James McCoy; her parents, Charlie Pink and Ruby Bell Parkerson; her sons, Kirt Morris and Kevin Blair; and her brother, Danny Parkerson. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her throughout her life.
Bobbie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the Elks Lodge in Broken Arrow, OK on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
