Billy Kent Hensinger, known as Bill to his many friends and family, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 21, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born in Bellevue, Ohio, on December 19, 1957, to parents Thomas Kent Hensinger and Joanne Elizabeth (Meyers) Hamblin. Bill graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1976.
Bill began his career in construction, expertly laying brick alongside his father and brother. He owned and operated his business “BK Paints” for many years before being led to an extended career working for the Tulsa County Highway Construction Department, as a dump truck driver.
Though his work was a significant part of his life, Bill was equally passionate about his personal interests and the friendships he built throughout his lifetime. A hat tip to adventure and the spirit of the West, he found joy in bull riding and the love of Rodeo. His excitement for golfing was matched only by his patience and persistence at the sport. Fishing provided him with quiet solitude. He took great pleasure in working outside around his home and relished in the simple beauty of a sunset view from his cherished place.
At the heart of everything he did was Bill's family. He was a cherished brother to Teri King and her husband Rob, Linda Scroggins, and Marilyn Hensinger. His daughter, Clarissa Thompson, and grandchildren Anshelle Rose Thompson, Lillyah Di’Nae Thompson, and Kennette Buttercup Thompson remain a treasured part of his heart forever, along with his nieces and nephews Nicole Culpper, Matthew Hensinger, Marcus Hensinger, Scotty Hendricks, Alicia Tice, Brooke Tandy, Andy Hulse, Aaron Hulse, Christian Hahn, David Hahn, and Winter Hahn. His love extended to a multitude of great nieces and nephews who will deeply miss his lively spirit. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Joe Allen, and Thomas Earl Hensinger.
His presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of strength, love, and laughter will continue to inspire all who know him.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church West Rogers Campus in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Bill will be laid to rest at the Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
