Billie Pankey

Billie F.C. Pankey, age 74, of Coweta, OK passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at Hillcrest Hospital in Claremore, OK. Billie was born on September 12, 1938 in McClelland, AR and was the son of Ivor Perl and Blanchie Eller (Taylor) Pankey. Billie was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He and Lala Ruth Byrd were united in marriage on July 16, 1966 in Bakersfield, CA. Billie worked at AT&T as an installer for 18 years. Billie was a member of the American Legion Post 226 in Coweta. Billie enjoyed watching TV and joking around with people. Billie is survived by his wife, Lala Ruth Pankey of the home; his daughter, Lala Shalene "Sherry" Grussing and husband, David, of Armstrong, IA; one brother, Robert Pankey of Bakersfield, CA; four sisters, Earlene Allen of Buchanan, MI, Virginia Paul of Lebanon, IN, Betty Lower of Pierceton, IN and Marilyn Henry of Mammoth Spring, AR; two grandchildren, Matthew Croy Grussing and Christopher Warren Grussing; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Billie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. There are no services planned for Billie.
