Billie V. Fisher

Billie V. Fisher, age 97, resident of Coweta, OK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024, at Coweta Care and Rehab Center in Coweta, OK. She was born on July 21, 1926, in Broken Arrow, OK to Charles D. and Lillie L. (Hall) Holmes. Billie's journey through life was one of compassion, resilience, and joy that touched the hearts of many.

Billie's early years were spent on a dairy farm in Broken Arrow, where she developed a love for the simple joys of life and the importance of family. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. A proud graduate of Broken Arrow High School, Billie went on to dedicate many years of service as a nurse aide at Vinita Hospital in Vinita, OK. Her commitment to caring for others was evident in the gentle and attentive way she treated all her patients.

In her later years, Billie found a second family at the Coweta Care Center, where she resided for 26 years. There, she was known for her love of playing bingo and her ability to light up a room with her presence. The care center was not just a place she lived; it was a community where she thrived and contributed to the happiness of others.

Billie's is survived by a loving circle of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Her legacy lives on through Julie Johnson, Janene Johnson, Shawn Holmes, Patsy Foster and her husband Rick, Patty Martin and her husband Ronnie, Joyce Terry, and Terence Terry and his wife Cheryl, along with numerous other relatives who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles D. and Lillie L. Holmes; her sister, Connie Johnson; her brother, Gene Allen Holmes and wife Dee Holmes; her niece, Janice Price; and her nephews, Larry Terry and Brian Terry.

Billie's life was a testament to the beauty of simple pleasures, the strength of quiet service, and the power of a loving heart. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

A graveside service to celebrate the remarkable life of Billie V. Fisher will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Snider Cemetery in Chelsea, OK. Chaplain Dennis Nance will officiate the service, honoring a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved.
