Billie Jean Birchfield, known affectionately to all as Jeanie, graced the world with her presence on January 7, 1961, in Colorado. Her charismatic spirit and joyous laughter embarked on a heavenly journey on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 64.
Jeanie was the cherished daughter to her late parents, Billy Gene Birchfield and Ruby Ellen (McManus) Birchfield. She grew up surrounded by the love and orneriness of her two brothers, Timothy Craig Birchfield and Anthony "Tony" Bryan Birchfield. Her life was further brightened by the warmth of her nieces, Chasity Bigger and husband David, and Toni Coe Birchfield, as well as her great-nieces, Cydnee Bigger, Brylee Birchfield, and Piper Birchfield-Davis. Though her own family tree bore many branches, including adored aunts Sue Cole, Kay Anderson, Linda McDuffie, Carolyn Jones, and Diana Harris, Jeanie's expansive heart encompassed an even larger family of cousins, extended relations, and countless close friends. Her endearing relationship with Lloyd Baker, lifelong friend Laura Arnett, goddaughter, Amy Sacket and husband Dylan, godson Ross Arnett and bonus children Chris Herrington, Robbie Conyers, and Danielle Acton attest to the wealth of love she both gave and received.
After graduating from Broken Arrow High School, Jeanie's career blossomed in management roles within the fast-food industry. She lent her sharp wit and leadership to establishments such as Taco Bueno and, most recently, Raising Canes, ensuring order and efficiency with a smile that could light up the room. Her colleagues knew her as someone who could stand her ground with a playful repartee, earning her a place of respect and kinship. Jeanie attended the Abundant Rain Church in Coweta where she was a valued volunteer with the food ministry.
Jeanie never missed a beat when it came to enjoying life's pleasures. She was a big kid at heart, nurturing and playful, pouring her maternal affection into the lives of her friends' children. She became an anticipated presence at their activities, finding as much joy in arcades, mini golf and the thrill of go-cart racing as the kids would. She could often be found watching NASCAR or attending Sprint Car events with friends. Jeanie was an avid reader and a culinary expert when it came to crafting comfort foods and holiday treats that were simply unforgettable. Just like her talented displays of belting out tunes in karaoke sessions or concerts, showcasing her wide-ranging musical tastes—from the rock anthems of Bon Jovi to the soul-stirring harmonies of gospel hymns. Not many knew, but Jeanie could also skillfully play the accordion and other various instruments, adding yet another dimension to her impressive array of musical abilities.
Jeanie’s legacy will live on in the smiles she brought to people's faces and in the imprints of love she left on countless hearts.
