Bill Baldridge

Bill D. Baldridge of Tulsa passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2007 in Coweta. He was 81 years old. Bill was born on November 2, 1925 in Bixby, Oklahoma. He was the son of Green Berry and Nancy (Potts) Baldridge. He received his education in the Bixby and Texas school systems and graduated from high school in Texas. He and Lillian "Bea" Compton were united in marriage on January 15, 1960 in Bacliff, Texas. He served in the United States Navy. Bill worked as a fleet manager for American Airlines for 20 years until his retirement in 1981. He attended the First Assembly of God. His hobbies included fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Bea of the home; one brother, Berry Baldridge of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Minnie Baker of New Caney, Texas and Nona Hare of Bixby; four grandchildren, Teresa Cowles and her husband, Jerry Don, Kellie Shannon, Sonia Reynolds and her husband, Larry, and Wakota "Koty" Long and her husband, Jason; seven great grandchildren, Magen and Brian Hilton, Lacey and Jared Rogers, Casey Dickens, Cole Shannon, Kolby Reynolds, and Jasper and Braxton Long; and three great-great grandchildren, Collins and Cooper Hilton and Holden Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Lee Brown Smith, one daughter, Kathy Siri, one son, Charlie Hayes, one brother, Marvin Smith, and two great-great grandchildren, Ashley Dickens and Dustin Reynolds. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Gary Rogers officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta. Pallbearers were Brian Hilton, Jared Rogers, Jason Long, Larry Reynolds, Randy Few, and Bob Hare. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Baldridge, Arthur "Junior" Dearmond, Loy Creekmore, and Jerry Don Cowles.
