Betty Willhoite

Betty Jean Willhoite, age 74, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, April 28, 2008 at her home. Betty was born on June 20, 1933 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Oliver Wendell and Alma (Pradmoore) Amos. She received her education in the Hugo, Oklahoma and Hope, Arkansas school systems, graduating from Hope High School in 1950. Betty and Harold Willhoite were united in marriage in July of 1952 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Betty worked as a supervisor at Wal-Mart for 23 years until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Harold, of the home; three sons, Raymond Willhoite and his wife, Donna, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Steve Willhoite and his wife, Susan, of Louisburg, Kansas, and Jay Willhoite of Oneta, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sharon WIllhoite of Oneta, Oklahoma; one brother, John Amos of Pearland, Texas; two sisters, Zula Kannarr of Sun City, Arizona and Virginia Perky of Huntsville, Alabama; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Karen Willhoite. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Carson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
