Betty G. Roberts, age 79, of Coweta departed this life on early Sunday morning, August 17, 2008 at her residence in Coweta. Betty was born on September 20, 1928 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Thomas Allen and Katie Mae (Elliot) Morton. She received her education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School in 1945. Betty and James E. Roberts, Sr. were united in marriage on September 14, 1946 and he later preceded her in death. Betty worked as a housekeeping supervisor at St. Francis Hospital for 37 years until she decided to retire in 1984. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Coweta. Her hobbies included crocheting and playing cards. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Left behind to cherish her memories are her two sons, Terry W. Roberts and James E. Roberts, Jr. both of Coweta; her daughter, Karen K. Roberts of Coweta; her sister, Joan Boyd of Coweta; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Tom Morton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Minister Allan Swinson officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta. Pallbearers will be Robbie Morton, Blane Morton, Stanley Morton, Josh Steele, Tony Roberts, and Daren Young.
