September 27, 2011 Betty Jean Irvin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 87 was born October 4, 1923, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to Art and Amanda Wise. She passed away from cardiac arrest on September 23, 2011. She was only a few days short of her 88th. birthday. She was stricken with Alzheimer's in the late 1990's and was loving cared for by her husband of 65 years, Ben F. Irvin, until his death in 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings: Florence Casey, Roy Wise, and John Calvin Wise. Betty is survived by her son, Ben F. Irvin III, her grandson, Guy George Irvin, sister in law Roline Wise; nieces, Renea Hudson, Diane Wise, Dana Luft, Gaylene Wise, Becky Carter, Kathy Freidman, Linda Thompson, and Debbie Steinman; nephews, Roger Wise, Gary Wise, Keith Lamb, Mark Lamb and Robert Lamb. Betty was a great mother and grandmother. She was an expert agate/jewelry maker, fisherman, cook, mother, grandmother, and hunter. Before her Alzheimer's became a problem she camped, fished, and sought agates from southern Arizona to northern Montana. Her partner in this was always her beloved husband. Her family appreciates the help received from the extended family and her many friends as she suffered with Alzheimer's. The love and effort put forth greatly extended her life and quality of life.
