Betty Lou (Brown) Hoffman, age 68, long-time resident of Catoosa, OK, a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Tuesday morning, November 6, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Betty was born on May 25, 1944 in Muskogee, OK and was the daughter of Rex Vue and Zola Mae (Gilbert) Brown. Betty was a 1962 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. Betty and Joseph Hoffman were married for 25 years. Betty worked at Gatesway Foundation Inc. as a job coach for over 25 years until she retired in 2011. She was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Betty enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling to Branson, MO but most of all she loved being with her children and grandchildren. Betty is survived by her 3 sons, Steve Hoffman and wife, Trina, of Catoosa, OK, James Hoffman and wife, Marci, of Edmond, OK and Doy Hoffman and wife, Angela, of Catoosa, OK; 1 daughter, Lisa Pennington and husband, Steve, of Adair, OK; 1 brother, Tom Brown and wife, Wanda, of Haskell, OK; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Checotah, Brandi, Christian, Samuel, Matthew, Hannah, Olivia, Megan, Trent, Justin and Ashley; 3 great grandchildren, Taylor, Waylon and Peyton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Rex Vue and Zola Mae Brown, her husband, Joseph Hoffman, 2 sisters, Wanda Payne and Judy Green and 1 brother-in-law, Charles Payne. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 8, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services for Betty are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2012 at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, 1100 N. 5th Street, Broken Arrow, OK. The Pastor Joey Griffith will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Steve Hoffman, James Hoffman, Doy Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, Steve Pennington and Steven Sanders.
