Elizabeth "Beth" Jean Johnson, of Coweta, age 89, a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Thursday morning, February 21, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Beth was born on September 1, 1923 in Naches, Washington and was the daughter of Frank Willis and Florence May (Munson) Nelson. Beth was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army serving as a Registered Nurse in World War II. After being discharged from the Army, she worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Stockton, CA retiring in 1986. Beth and Russell Johnson were united in marriage on April 14, 1979 in Reno, NV. Beth was a faithful member of the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills in Broken Arrow. Beth enjoyed fishing, cooking, canning, doing church work and she loved helping others. Beth is lovingly survived by her husband of 33 years, Russell Johnson of the home; her four children, Denise Otis and husband, Robert, of Los Angeles, CA, Mike Johnson and wife, Sana, of Sacramento, CA, Stan Johnson and wife, Jessica, of Frisco, CO and Ella Blair and husband, Tom, of Stockton, CA; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Beth was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. Funeral services for Beth are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills in Broken Arrow, OK with Stan Johnson and Dale Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Mike Johnson, Larry Johnson, Jerry Spradley, John Blair, Greg Johnson and Robert Otis.
