Bernice Elizabeth Hatfield

Bernice Elizabeth Hatfield, age 99, lifelong Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, June 1, 2019 at Eastgate Village Healthcare Center in Muskogee, OK. Bernice was born on February 10, 1920 in Coweta, OK and was the daughter of Jim and Emma (Oswald) Sewell. She was a graduate of Coweta High School. Bernice married the love of her life, Bob Winford Hatfield on August 17, 1942 in Henryetta, OK and they were blessed with two sons, Dennis and Mark. She was a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family. Bernice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. She loved to cook, clean her house and was known for her fried chicken and macaroni. Bernice is survived by two sons, Dennis Hatfield and wife Debbie of Coweta, OK and Mark Hatfield of Coweta, OK; two brothers, Ted Sewell and wife Martha of Coweta, OK and Sonny Sewell of Salt Lake City, UT; one sister, Glenda Henson and husband J.D. of Bixby, OK; six grandchildren, Shawnda Hatfield, Kimberly Cowles, Kyle Hatfield, Shane Hatfield and wife Shari, Ryan Hatfield and wife Tara, and Tyler Hatfield; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hatfield; her parents, Jim and Emma Sewell; her sister, Paulene Spangler; and her daughter-in-law, Dana Hatfield. Services celebrating Bernice's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Shane Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers will be Shane Hatfield, Ryan Hatfield, Kyle Hatfield, Jimmy Henson, Connie Cypert, Kenneth Sewell, Rodney Hatfield, and Cliff Hatfield.
