Bennie Gean Alderson

Bennie Gean Alderson, age 81, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma departed this life on Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Bennie was born on June 5, 1941 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Willie and Edith (Hagan) Alderson.  He attended school in Onapa, Oklahoma.    He married the love of his life, Maxine Mae Walker in 1968.  Bennie worked for MJ Lee Construction as a Superintendent.  He enjoyed horse races, cattle ranching, and playing cards and dominos.

Bennie is survived by his children, Kimberly Peterson and husband Bryan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Ben “Bub” Alderson of Coweta, Oklahoma, Stephanie Fenton and husband Rowdy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Michael Alderson of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Dale Alderson of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; his brother, WC Alderson of Ashville, North Carolina; his sister, Goldie Harvey of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Hunter Thorsen, Chloe Thorsen, Rowdy Fenton, Joshua Fenton, Tessa Alderson, Chase Alderson, and Breann Frazier; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Bennie was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Alderson, his parents, Willie and Edith Alderson, and his siblings, John Alderson, Bonnie Paton, Jim Alderson, and Roger Alderson.

Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Graveside services celebrating Bennie’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, Oklahoma with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating.
