Auda May Carr

Auda May Carr, age 94, Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, February 24, 2019 at Canoe Brook in Broken Arrow, OK. Auda was born on December 21, 1924 in Stigler, OK and was the daughter of Mamon R. and Fannie (Edwards) Beene. She received her education in Oneta schools. Auda married the love of her life, Jerrel Leon Carr on October 25, 1941 in Wagoner, OK and they made their first home there. In 1943, they moved to Coweta where they raised their family. She was a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family. Auda is a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working in the yard and talking on the phone with family and friends. She also loved to fish in which they made several trips to Gunnison, Colorado and going to Epcot Center at Disney World in Orlando, Florida every year, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Auda is survived by two sons, Jerry Delon Carr and wife, Kathryn of Broken Arrow, OK and Dr. Ronnie Leon Carr and wife, Dowana of Coweta, OK; four grandchildren, Robin Rector and husband, Jeff, Geri Gilstrap and husband, Jim, Wendy Carr and Brandon Carr and wife, Whitney; ten great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy Russell and Sherry Russell, both of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Auda was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jerrel Leon Carr; her parents, Mamon and Fannie Beene; one sister, Virginia Marlow; and one brother, Kenneth Wayne Beene. Viewing will be from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Services celebrating Auda's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. A private interment will be in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Brandon Carr, Jeff Rector, Jim Gilstrap, Cody Gilstrap, Josh Gilstrap and Seth Gilstrap.
