Arvel Lee Looney

Arvel Lee Looney, age 84, resident of Coweta departed this life on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Arvel was born on November 24, 1936 in Board Camp, Arkansas and was the son of Ivan Luther and Irene (Elliott) Looney.  He attended school in Board Camp, Arkansas and Mena High School in Mena, Arkansas.  Arvel proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He married the love of his life, Alejandra A. Agrabio on January 19, 1989.  Arvel was a glass inspector for Ford Glass Plant for 30 years.  He was a member of the Florence Street Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Arvel enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.

Arvel is survived by his wife, Alejandra Looney of Coweta, Oklahoma; his daughter, Regina Irene Gilbert and her husband Dale; his son, Keric Robin Looney of Coweta, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Knox Gilbert, Rebekah Akines and her husband Bobby, Brittany Walker and her husband Kirby, Ashley Smith and her husband Kyle, and Matthew Looney and his wife Michelle; eight great grandchildren, Cheyenne Akines, Dakota Akines, Talon Smith, Allison Walker, Abbigail Walker, Aubrey Walker, Ashley Walker, and April Walker; his brother, Argel Gene Looney and his wife Margaret of Watson, Oklahoma; his sister, Betty Sue Wood and her husband Jackie of Paris, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Arvel was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Irene Looney, and his sister, Doris Mae Looney.

Viewing will be from 12:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta.  Services celebrating Arvel’s life will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Florence Street Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Pastor Matt Raines officiating.  He will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Board Camp Cemetery in Board Camp, Arkansas.
