Arnold Claxton

Arnold Lee Claxton, age 71, of Coweta, OK passed from this life on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Arnold was born on December 23, 1939 in Tulsa, OK to Oscar Ray and Annie Gwendolyn (Carter) Claxton. He attended Prairie Glade School in Coweta, OK untill the 9th grade and then attended Coweta Public School and graduated in 1957. Arnold and Patsie Orcutt were married on June 29, 1984 in Coweta, OK. He worked as a chemist at Tulsa Rubber Company for 36 years until his retirement in 2001. Arnold was of the Baptist faith. His hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening, and he enjoyed ranching. Arnold is lovingly survived by his wife, Patsie of the home; 1 son, William "Bill" Claxton and his wife, Autumn, of Davis, OK; 6 daughters, Pamela Willhoite of Bartlesville, OK, Kim Tyler and her husband, Roger, of Coweta, OK, Karen Walker of Haskell, OK, Vickie Herron and her husband, James, of Coweta, OK, Karen Mason of Coweta, OK, and Kandi Claxton of Tulsa, OK; 1 sister, Flo Waldrup of Coweta, OK; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Bert Claxton and Jimmy Orcutt, his granddaughter, Andrea Leigh Mason, and his son-in-law, Randy Walker. Funeral services for Arnold will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Rev. Lynn Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
