Arlis A. Treat

Arlis A. Treat, age 93, long-time resident of Coweta, OK, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, February 12, 2014 at his home in Coweta, OK surrounded by his family. Arlis was born on September 13, 1920 in Little Rock, AR and was the son of John Zachery and Laura Mae (Moreland) Treat. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Arlis and Imogene Londagin were married on September 6, 1955 in Coweta, OK. He worked as a truck driver and welder for many years until he retired in May of 1982. Arlis was a member of New Bethel Assembly of God in Broken Arrow. He enjoyed mowing, dancing, skating, boxing, playing pranks on people and he loved spending time with his family. Arlis is survived by his wife, Imogene Treat of the home in Coweta, OK; 4 children, Vickie Parker of Haskell, OK, Randy Treat & wife, Judy, of Coweta, OK, Danya Sweet & husband, Steve, of Bryan, TX and Marsha Clinton & husband, Bill, of Coweta, OK; 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Arlis was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Barbara, 2 sons, Jerry Lee and Edward Lee, 1 brother, Arel and 1 great granddaughter, Rebekah Mae. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, February 13, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services for Arlis are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, February 14, 2014 at New Bethel Assembly of God, 24918 E. 111th Street, Broken Arrow, OK. Pastor Dan Haase will officiate the service. Interment with military honors will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Randy Treat, Darrell Helfenbein, Dustin Treat, Chad Treat, Klaus Hummer and J.J. Hummer.
