AnnaBell Kelley, age 91, longtime resident of Broken Arrow entered into Heaven’s Gates on Friday evening, October 14, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  AnnaBell was born on September 21, 1931 in Timber Ridge, Oklahoma to George Washington and Susie Ann (Tackett) Pirtle.  She attended Timber Ridge and Sunnyside Schools and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1950, where she was the 1949 homecoming football queen.  After graduating high school, she attended Draughon’s Business College.  AnnaBell married the love of her life, Kenneth Eugene Kelley on May 2, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She worked at Bethlehem Steel for a few years and then was a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family and working on the farm.  AnnaBell was a faithful member of The Assembly in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  She was involved with the home demonstration club and the 4-H where she was a leader and was very instrumental in the livestock judging.  In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and roller skating.  AnnaBell also enjoyed quilting, cooking, fishing, canning, gardening, watching birds, and she loved her cats.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

AnnaBell is survived by her sons, Calvin Kelley and wife Sharon of Owasso, Oklahoma and Alan Kelley of Morris, Oklahoma; her grandsons, Kevin Kelley of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kyle Kelley of Owasso, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

AnnaBell was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Kelley; her parents, George Washington and Susie Ann (Tackett) Pirtle; her grandson, Keith Kelley; her brothers and sisters, Ralph Pirtle, Georgia Pirtle, Arlin Pirtle, Merle Pirtle, Lavern Pirtle, and Geneva Pirtle Lanier.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating AnnaBell’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Dr. Don Love and Pastor Barry Simon officiating.  AnnaBell will be laid to rest next to her husband, Kenneth at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Tim Kelley, Chris Kelley, WD Kelley, Clay Kelley, Hoss Hopping, Joe Hopping, Aaron Payne, and Jay O’Reilly.
