On Monday, May 17, 2021, Nita Feeley, loving wife, mother, and GG, went into the Lord’s loving arms at the age of 73.
Nita Feeley was born Anita Kay Glackin on June 28, 1947 in Casper, Wyoming to Clara Kathleen Hoskins and Willis E. Glackin. The family later set down roots in Lakewood, Colorado. As a young woman, Nita discovered her love for reading and graduated Lincoln High School in 1965 as a straight A student. She received her Master’s in Education from Columbus College of Georgia and pursued a career in special education. She later became a respected editor for the Society of Engineering Geophysicists.
On May 2, 1987, she married Ronald Feeley on a beautiful day in Littleton, Colorado. Together they raised 5 children in their blended family: her son and daughter, Ken and Tammy as well as Ron’s three sons, Chris, Andy and Jeff.
Nita had a passion for giving and the act of charity. Her love and devotion to Jesus guided her to use her gifts to help others. She used her incredible textile talents to create intricate cross stitch pieces for children’s charities as well as being an instrumental member of the New Day Foundation, which funds and coordinates children’s homes across the world. She was also an extremely talented photographer who had the unique ability to capture precious moments in family life and the world around her. Her work in children’s education and related philanthropy impacted so many young lives. Her greatest legacy is the kindness and generosity she bestowed on others.
Nita was preceded in death by her father Willis E. Glackin, her mother Clara Hoskins and her brother Ronnie Glackin. She is survived by her husband Ron Feeley, and her siblings, Berta and Dennis. Ron and Nita also share 5 surviving children, 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Nita touched so many people’s lives in so many different ways. Her maternal guidance helped shape and influence all of the young minds in her life. Especially those of her children and grandchildren. She was always there with an ear to listen, giving tactful and sound advice just when you needed it most.
We love and miss her dearly.
