Anita Grant

Anita Jane Grant, age 89, of Stone Bluff, OK passed away peacefully just two hours before her 90th birthday, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her home in Stone Bluff, OK. Anita was born on April 17, 1923 in Norman, OK and was the daughter of James Madison and Lula (Corbett) Gault. Anita and Jesse McPherson Grant were united in marriage on December 31, 1941 in Norman, OK and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1999. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Anita was a volunteer at the Recreational Center for the Physically Limited for 17 years. She enjoyed gardening, making dolls, collecting beanie babies, traveling and looking at picture books. Anita is lovingly survived by her 2 daughters, Anita Eileen Whitesell and husband, John, of Stone Bluff, OK and Norma Jo "Jodi" Jernigan and husband, Duie, of Stone Bluff, OK; her 2 sons, Donald Ray Grant and wife, Glenee, of Tulsa, OK and Terry Mark Grant and wife, Teresa, of Stone Bluff, OK; 1 sister, Oletha Brumm of Fresno, CA; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McPherson Grant, her parents, James and Lula Gault, 2 brothers, Thurman and Ed, 1 sister, Louise and 1 grandson, Victor Lane O'Bryan. Funeral services for Anita are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2013 at Wright-Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Dr. Duie Jernigan, Dr. Randall Feller and Dr. Douglas Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, OK. Pallbearers are Donald Grant, II, Randy O'Bryan, Grant Whitesell, Rob Walker, Chris Whitesell and Paul Whitesell.
