Alma Earlean McClendon, known affectionately as Earlean to her friends and family, age 102, longtime Coweta resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, October 31, 2024, at the Broadway Care & Rehabilitation Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was born on August 5, 1922, in Gainesville, Missouri to James Everett and Della Mae (Hamilton) Foster. Earlean was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.

Earlean 's life was one of devotion and care, as she embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and joy. Her hands were rarely still, often busy with needlework or preparing her famous fried chicken that brought the family together around the table. Her journey from Gainesville, Missouri to Oklahoma as a young girl in a covered wagon was a testament to her adventurous spirit and resilience.

The love story of Earlean and George W. McClendon began on April 19, 1946, in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Their union was filled with love, laughter, and the blessings of a large and loving family. Earlean is survived by her children, James Neal and wife Pat, Fay Jenkins, Randy McClendon, Larry McClendon and wife Janelle, and Gary McClendon and wife Judy. She was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and wisdom that will continue to thrive in her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Earlean's life was marked by the bonds of family, and she held the unique honor of being the last surviving sibling of her seven brothers and sisters. Her parents, James Everett and Della Mae Foster, as well as her beloved husband, George, and her six brothers and sisters, preceded her in death.

Those who knew Earlean will remember her for her unwavering kindness and the comfort she provided to those around her. Her home was a haven, and her heart, a sanctuary for all. Earlean's life was a journey of love, from the wagon trails of Missouri to the hearts of those she touched in Oklahoma, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come.
