April 9, 2012 Alma Louise Lawson Braaten passed away on April 6, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 1 day. She was born on July 5, 1927 in Larimore, ND to William Preston and Bernicia (Newman) Lawson. Alma worked as a telemarketing manager at North Dakota Association for the Disabled and loved reading and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed anything purple, playing Yahtzee and sewing quilts for her whole family. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bernicia Lawson; husband, Pat Braaten;
sisters, Elizabeth Eberhardt, Beulah Farrell, and Doris Eider; brothers, Walter Lawson and Floyd "Buck" Lawson; and great-grandchildren, Scotty and Phillip. Alma is survived by her children, Judith Dwyer (Rev. David) of Henryette, MN, Carrol Harris (Roger) of Little Rock, AR, Linda Braaten of Johannesburg, South Africa, Patsy Acker (T. Charles) of Broken Arrow, OK, Rev. Daniel Braaten (Debbie) of Fargo, ND, Raymond Braaten (Denise) of Yukon, OK, Paul Braaten of Tioga, ND and John Braaten (Carol) of Bethany, OK; 23 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Eider (Gordon) of Grand Forks, ND;
and numerous other family members and friends. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Nazarene Church in Broken Arrow. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Kennedy-Kennard Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the First Nazarene Church in Broken Arrow. Interment will be at Bellevue Cemetery in Larimore, ND. www.kennedycares.com
