Alice Leanna (Chance) Rogers

Alice Leanna Rogers, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Friday morning, October 6, 2023, at the Forest Hills Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 92 years. She was born on May 11, 1931, in Coweta, OK to Melvin and Obie Edna (Martin) Chance.

Alice attended Sunnyside School in Broken Arrow, OK. She was a devoted homemaker who cherished her role in taking care of her family. She married the love of her life, Lester Eugene Rogers, on August 9, 1947, in Coweta, OK. The couple settled in Broken Arrow, OK, where they raised their family and created countless memories.

Alice had a passion for gardening, traveling, cooking, and fishing with Lester. She was a skilled seamstress, often seen sewing, quilting, or crocheting. Alice was a prayer warrior for her family, always keeping them in her thoughts and prayers. She was a longtime member of The Assembly in Broken Arrow, OK, where she found great joy and solace in her faith. Alice's love for her family was evident in the time she spent with them, especially during family get-togethers. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Alice is survived by her daughters, Sue Coker of Coweta, OK, Neva Bell and husband David of Tulsa, OK, and Nila Davis and husband Tony of Broken Arrow, OK; her son, Gary Rogers and wife Christine of Broken Arrow, OK; 7 grandchildren, Becky King and husband Kris, Laura Parker, Jennifer Austin and husband Troy, Michael Rogers and wife Mercedes, Ellen Buchanan and husband Beau, Amanda James and husband Chris, and Travis Rose and wife Li Tan; 14 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Paul Chance and wife Janice of Porter, OK, Olen Chance and wife Kathy of Coweta, OK, James Chance and wife Judy of Porter, OK, and Harold Chance and wife Pat of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Eugene Rogers, her parents, Melvin and Obie Edna Chance, her brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Pearl Chance, her sister, Helen Chance, and her son-in-law, Taylor Coker.

Alice's life was a testament to her love for her family and her faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK, with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services celebrating Alice's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at The Assembly in Broken Arrow, OK, with Pastor Barry Simon officiating. Alice will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
