Alice Faye Brooks

Alice Faye Brooks, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Oklahoma Methodist Manor in Tulsa, OK. Faye was born on July 17, 1929 in Short Mountain, OK and was the daughter of Loue and Evie Luvena (Jones) Vineyard. She was raised in Spiro and graduated from Spiro High School. After graduating high school, she became a beautician. Faye married the love of her life, John V. Hale in 1955 and they owned and operated Circle J Restaurant in Talihina, OK. John passed away in 1981. Faye then met Roy Eugene Brooks and they were married in 1989. She helped Roy run his grocery store in Red Oak, OK until they retired, and he passed away in 1998. Faye was also a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family and friends. She enjoyed collecting antiques, Heisey glass, old furniture and she was a great cook. She was a very hardworking woman and was a great mother, grandmother and sister. Faye is survived by her two sons, John Christopher Hale and wife Katzy of Coweta, OK and David Hale of Haileyville, OK; four sisters, Joye Anderson of Spiro, OK, Kay Bennett of Spiro, OK, Patsy Stout of Broken Arrow, OK and Glenna Hinton of Heavener, OK; one brother, Roy Vineyard and wife Eleanor of Panama, OK; three grandchildren, Jennifer Hoover of Wagoner, OK, Sarah Hale of Sperry, OK and Brian Scott Hale of Little Rock, AR; one great granddaughter, Evie Hoover; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Faye was preceded in death by her husbands, John V. Hale and Roy Eugene Brooks; her parents, Loue and Evie Vineyard; and seven siblings, Frank Vineyard, Murl Vineyard, Johnny Vineyard, Charles Vineyard, Carol Kuykendall, Mayme Brock and Mildred Kennedy. Viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 and services celebrating Faye's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.
