Alfred Paul Matlock, age 63, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, April 11, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family members. Alfred was born on July 19, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Newton R. and Mattie E. (Dugan) Matlock. He received his education and graduated from Webster High School in 1962. He then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics. On January 5, 1963 he was united in marriage to Betty L. Wilson in Coweta, Oklahoma. Alfred worked as an inspector for John Zink Company for 13 years. He was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Alfred enjoyed fishing and his computer. Alfred is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; three sons, Darrell Matlock and his wife, Jessie, of Redding, California, Paul Matlock and his wife, Emily, of Coweta, Oklahoma; and Earl Matlock and his wife, Tabitha, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one sister, Sara Lee of Tulsa, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, George Matlock, two brothers, and one sister. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger McDougal officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Cameron Wilson, Clayton Wilson, Clinton Wilson, William Reeves, Tommy Murray, Mark Kelley, Daniel Matlock, and Mike Nelson.
