Geneva Florence (Skaggs) Holmes

Geneva Florene Holmes, 88, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, departed this life on Monday, October 23, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on May 23, 1935, in Ada, Oklahoma to parents Ada (Devemport) and Claud Skaggs.

Geneva was generous to those around her and her loved ones, treating everyone she met like family with care, warmth, and affection. As a homemaker, she found happiness in the happiness of others—be it making quilts and joyously giving them away or expressing her love through her cooking.

Geneva is survived by her beloved children Elaine and Michael Riley of Broken Arrow OK, Byron and Donna Holmes of Claremore OK, Anthony and Laura Holmes of Clovis CA, Rodney Holmes of Claremore OK, Robert and Marianne Holmes of Johnstown CO, and Tim and Kathy Holmes of Bartlesville OK. She left behind a blessed lineage of 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who she cherished deeply. She also leaves behind siblings Bill Skaggs of Fresno, CA, and Velma Rogers of Coarsegold, CA.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Clayton DeVon Holmes, her parents Claude and Ada Skaggs, and her siblings: Troy Skaggs, Tommy Skaggs, Wilma Skaggs, Ellen Streeter, and Eddie Skaggs.

Geneva's legacy is a testament to a life beautifully lived, loving generously, caring deeply, and making every heartbeat count.

A Private Family Service will be held in Bartlesville, OK. A Graveside Service will be held in Clovis, CA.
